Internship on Minimization of Climatic Impact on Water and Water Based Renewable Energy Systems by Cognitive and Hierarchical Techniques

Description about the Internship

This short-term course on Hydroinformatics is about an internship program proposed for 2025, aimed at minimizing the climatic impact on water and water-based renewable energy systems. The internship will last two months and can be completed online or offline. The goal is to find the best possible mitigation alternatives for the minimization of climate change's impact on these systems.

The first objective is to determine if these systems are truly impacted by climate change. If so, how can they be mitigated? Artificial intelligence-based models like group method of data handling will be employed to predict the climate change impact on the output of these systems. The second objective is to propose multiple alternatives and collect multiple mitigative alternatives.

The internship will involve consulting literature on the topic and identifying the best alternative among them. The team will use MCDM techniques, such as the nature-inspired optimization technique, which is rare but not common in water resource management or renewable energy systems. These techniques include invasive weed optimization technique, cat swarm optimization technique, and glow warm optimization technique.

Thanks for reading Baipatra VSC! This post is public so feel free to share it.

Five open source free hydrologic models that you can use to model runoff of micro to macro watersheds

The principal objective of hydrologic models is to forecast the runoff of a surface water body, especially dendritic systems like rivers, streams, etc. The inputs to these models are generally Rainfall/Precipitation, Soil Characteristics, and other Climatic parameters like evapotranspiration, humidity, etc. LULC and geo-morphology are also used as the required input parameters of the hydrologic models. Both input and output of these models are temporally as well as spatially variable. Now the resolution varies with different models. Some models consider all the sub-basins to be a single watershed and determine the output based on the characteristics of this single watershed(lumped). In contrast, some other models will consider the {impact|effect} of each of the sub-basins on the central outflow of the watershed(distributed). In a few models, the entire watershed is divided into grids or units of uniform dimension. However, the accuracy is highest for the models, which considers the {impa...

StartUp that replace SCADA Systems in Water Treatment Plants

Startups play a crucial role in addressing these challenges by introducing innovative technologies and solutions for efficient water resource management, ultimately contributing to the sustainability of our planet. and promoting a cleaner environment for future generations.   These new businesses can identify gaps in the current water management systems and develop creative solutions to improve access to clean water sources and combat water pollution. By harnessing the power of technology and entrepreneurship, StartUps can make significant strides in preserving our water resources and ensuring a more sustainable future for all.  Through their dedication and innovation, StartUps are paving the way for a cleaner and healthier environment for generations to come.
